IN THIS PREQUEL to his Mississippi Top Ten Best Selling Novel, What I Learned at the 'Zoo, set in Yazoo City, Mississippi, Dale Beasley tells the story of the devilish and charming Dallas Crabtree who saw his well-laid plans waylaid, ambushed for a greater call. One phone call took the college senior away from his carefree life of fraternity parties and sorority formals to being surrounded by the German army in the Siege of Bastogne. That one call caused Crabtree to spend a year of his life in the war and the rest of his life coming home.
Dale Beasley
, author of What I Learned at the ‘Zoo, is a sixth-generation retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and an Iraqi War Veteran. Over a thirty-one-year brilliant career, he served throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He is a trauma/emergency registered nurse and a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, The Academy of Health Sciences, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College. A member of the United States Army Medical Service Corps Regiment, Beasley also is an honorary member of HRH Queen Elizabeth’s Royal Medical Corps. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. As husband and father of four, he proudly shares that both his sons serve in the US Armed Services.
